Humboldt Broncos

As most of you already have heard the hockey world was in shock with the tragic bus crash yesterday in Saskatchewan, as news came in through the night our hearts go out to the ones that passed away and the players who survived that will have to deal with this for a long time.

The ball hockey community has lost one of its Junior Team Canada players Logan Shatz who served captain of the Humboldt Broncos for the last two years.

He competed at the 2013 Nationals and from there went on to play with a 2014 U18 JTC in Slovakia and then with the U20’s in 2016 in England.

Our hearts go out to his family.... and Logan you will always be remembered within the junior team Canada program by all!!

SSBHL are members of OBHF

The South Simcoe Ball Hockey Leagues is pleased to announce the recent partnership and alliance with our new Provincial partner, the OBHF (Ontario Ball Hockey Federation).

We will continue to manage our league in the same manner as it has in the past.  However, while the OBHF is working on its transition and expansion, the Provincial tournaments may be slightly smaller in size for a period of time.  Our selected Provincial teams will now be given the opportunity to qualify for the CBHA Junior Nationals and a group of selected players may even be chosen to compete at the ISBHF Junior World Ball Hockey Championships for Junior Team Canada

To that end, we are pleased to welcome Withrow Park, Vaughan, Mississauga,  Shelburne, New Tecumseth and Kitchener who are also the newest members of the OBHF.

We look forward to the upcoming season which is scheduled to commence on April 18, 2015.

Further information regarding the Provincials and other tournaments will be posted on our website later this week.

We will keep you apprised of matters as they progress.
