Rep Division and Residency Update

We would like to clarify the process for our newly established rep division in the U8, U10, and U12 categories.

Currently, each of these divisions has a maximum registration capacity of 150 participants. This will allow us to form four teams representing Innisfil and Barrie, as well as two teams from Bradford.

Before the start of the season, we will conduct player evaluations. The top 30 players from Barrie and Innisfil, along with the top 15 from Bradford, will be transferred to the rep division. All remaining participants will stay in the local league program. This structure will enable us to create two divisions of five teams each. Teams will then be drafted by our selected coaches.

The days of play for each municipality will remain the same; however, most of the Barrie rep home games will be held at the Thornton Arena.

To address the challenge of finding goalies, we will allow them to be rostered on both a local league team and a rep team, respectively.
If you have any questions regarding this process, please feel free to contact me at 416-671-3893 via phone or text.

Regarding our residency rules for provincials, we are currently working on a solution with New Tec. however, until that is resolved, the South Simcoe Ball Hockey League will not grant any releases for trying out elsewhere. All players must try out within their residential boundary and must be members of our league.

Please note that this information may change in the future. Until a final decision is made between both parties, the SSBHL will be enforcing the aforementioned rule.

Registration is currently available on our website. Register now to guarantee a spot. Most of our divisions are at 85% capacity or greater.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

2025 Spring Season

We want to inform you that registration for the upcoming season is currently ongoing. We are pleased to offer last year's rates at $220 per player until November 25. After this date, rates will be adjusted to the current cost of $235.

In our U8, U10, U12 and U14 divisions, registration has been set up to accommodate 45 players per municipality. This will allow for 3 teams from Barrie, Innisfil, and Bradford. Once these divisions reach capacity (estimated late December), we will reach out to families to inquire on who would be interested in moving their child into our new rep division. Our goal is to eventually have all higher-level players in their own division to ensure fair play for all.

Also, a reminder on the new OBHF ruling. Players are more than welcome to play in multiple or surrounding leagues; however, you cannot attend provincial tryouts or compete with another league outside of your geographical territory. An updated map along with further information will be made available shortly.

We look forward to another successful season ahead.
